Several years ago, my daughter Eleanor became enamored of Sweet Baby Rays barbeque sauce, thinking it the best ever. I said I thought I could make a sauce that she’d like even better. And so I did. Then we started selling ribs here at The Tavern. Lo and behold, we have a growing army of Tavern rib lovers who agree that the sauce is incredible. At any rate, it garnered a Blue Ribbon at the 2011 State Fair of Virginia, and I thought you might want to know. Sorry, I’m not gonna give you the recipe, but you can have fun in your own kitchen experimenting with sauces. Trial and error, patience, and knowing that there are no “wrong” answers.
